Classic Steam
« on: February 27, 2016, 05:48:52 AM »

This past week this Classic Steam locomotive hit the rails after a decade long £4.2M refit. A £225.00 a ticket to take the 3hr 200mi ride with this classic train.
Here's a link on the Dailymail right up.
The other link is a map showing the train route you'll see a place called Grantham on the route if you can enlarge the map. My nephew lives there and he got a pic of the Dutchman as it went by at the back of his home.

Pretty cool.
We have antique locomotives around the country that are still in service as tourist things. They are fun to travel on, especially when they are a ride to nowhere and back. 225 sounds a bit steep though.

Where is running from, in relation to London? And can you get to it from the Central London Station?

Kings Cross London  Central Station. That is on the Central Underground tube that you can get to from any North,South,East or West part of London.
BTW.,....I stand corrected,......you thought 225 sounded steep. In fact it was as much as£450.00 per. ticket.
So that sort of rules out the common folks from climbing aboard,...Like me! who has to plan a week ahead to have an ice cream cone 8)
