While I don't have the new 2015 with the Infotainment System... my thoughts would be, with the 'liquid' display... it's getting too hot somewhere.  Bad wiring inside the unit possibly?  I had a Ham radio with the LCD display do this after a few years of bouncing around in the mobile.  Turned out, one of the heat sinks dislodged and in combination of the high heat from the Oklahoma Summers and the internal heat generated by the radio, the LCD would turn black, and no matter of adjustment to the Contrast or Brightness would make any difference.  Just had to shut it down and let it cool off... at least until we found the real problem with the heat sink.

Just a thought.

Could it be something as simple as an automatic screen dimming feature, similar to what's available on standalone GPS units?  Look through the display setup menu and see if there is a setting for automatic display brightness, or daylight/nighttime mode, or something similar.  If so, turn it off and see if your problem goes away.

Is it just the GPS function going black, or when that happens do you lose all other functions of the radio, etc?
Does it ever happen on the other functions, or only on the GPS function?
