On the Harley rider planner the maps controls are no longer there on the side of the map to control the maps in size or to get the Satellite view.  I have tried differ lap tops of my friends and still not there for Navigating the maps .

Noticed the same issue. The only way to zoom in and out appears to be using the mouse scroll wheel ........not a usable solution. Anyone figure out a solution .......please advise.

I don't think anybody here can fix the Harley website but you might try calling Customer Service to let them know it's broke.  :nixweiss:

Not the easiest tool to use.  Microsoft Streets and Trips may be an alternative.

Switched to Base Camp myself. Not web based but uses the most recent Garmin maps you own. Pretty basic roads on initial download weren't good for local planning at all though. Had to update with a Garmin I own. Don't know if you can update without one.

Called Harley HOG support .........apparently they are aware.
We have two solutions:
1. Zooming in and out can be done by using the mouse wheel (for those who have a mouse wheel);
2. GOOD NEWS :)! As of today, my map controls are back

Re: Harley Rider Planner - Copying, or Saving a Ride As.
« Reply #8 on: April 15, 2015, 12:28:09 PM »

Looking for a way to split a single detailed long saved ride into two rides with different names without losing any of the LOCATIONS/NOTES I've saved. While working in the Ride Planner, is it possible to COPY a ride as another name? It appears to not be possible to save a ride as another name and still have the original ride ???. I've plotted a detailed cross country ride from San Diego to Washington DC which has 24 LOCATIONS. Now, after reading the BOOM! BOX manual I'm discovering to my dismay that each LOCATION appears to be the same as what the manual calls a TRIP .........and that the navigation system can only hold a maximum of 17 TRIIPS :-[! I really don't want to have to re-enter all the information and notes as a new trip :'(

Clearly, it's possible to export a ride as a .gpx file .....and "share" a ride by email. Alternately, is it possible to import a .gpx ride file into Ride Planner and then develop or work on it ....then save as another name? Calling the HOG folks for solutions is apparently a waste of time :(

Re: Harley Ride Planner won't PRINT RIDE
« Reply #9 on: April 15, 2015, 10:52:47 PM »

Okay .........reduced the number of LOCATIONS to a maximum of 17 (per page 160) and I'm thinking 2 locations = a trip. The entire ride now plots on my computer screen and no "error messages" saying a route to one, or more, locations could not be calculated ;D. Problem is ......I cannot get the ride to PRINT ???! It just sits there "loading" >:(! Anyone have this problem and figured it out?

    UPDATE:
I've gotten the rides to both plot correctly (w/o errors) and now they'll print as well. The printing only worked after creating a new ride with no more than 17 trips >:(! Reducing the number of trips on my 24 trip ride worked for plotting correctly ......but not for printing .....WTF :'(!

Now to figure out how to import the ride correctly. After loading an imported ride with a total of 4 Locations and 8 Waypoints called BRENNECKE'S, I see "SELECT ALL" on my screen ........followed by what appears to be 3 Trips (BRENNECKE'S 3, BRENNECKE'S 2 & BRENNECKE'S) and what appears to be the 4 individual Locations and 8 Waypoints. I've read forum posters advising that it's only necessary to load the first file name beneath the "SELECT ALL" button (in this case it would be BRENNECKE'S 3). Supposedly that contains all you need for the whole ride .........but I wonder :-\.

That doesn't make sense to me however as I'm thinking the three BRENNECKE'S names represent the 3 Trips between the 4 Locations. Note that 2 of the Locations are the same place ......i.e. Home where the ride begins and ends. Thus the 3 Trips are:

    1) Home to Location #1
    2) Location #1 to Location #2
    3) and Location #2 to Home

It sure seems like I should "SELECT ALL" in order to load the entire ride! Or should it be only the 3 BRENNECKE'S named files (presumably these are the Trips) and not the Locations and Waypoints??? This is VERY CONFUSING .........Any advice from them who's done it would be most welcome ;)!
