Tires, 2011 FLHXSE2....Anyone ?
« on: April 26, 2015, 05:00:48 PM »

This is my second season searching for tires, like to put on something beside Dunlops. 19 in the front, 18 in the rear.....Michelin or any other brand doesn't stock the tires.

Can anyone offer any helpful insight?
                                                             Thx in advance.

You're stuck with the factory Dunlops.  You can find tires that fit the wheel, but will not have the load rating you need.

I seem to remember reading that Dunflop was finally planning to add the 18 inch rears to their American Elite line sometime this year.  Otherwise, you can find tires that have lower load ratings and were designed for a wider rim, but that is not an approach I would ever recommend.  Something to think about when you buy your next bike; check the tires and rims and make sure you aren't being screwed by the manufacturer into having to buy replacements strictly from him.

I'm having the same issue with my 2012 CVO Street Glide.
The issue is the CVO street glide is the ONLY motorcycle that uses those size tires.
Not enough demand for the aftermarket to make them.

Yeah, heard that too. Supposedly by the time Sturgis rolls around.
