dr. jekyll & mr. hyde exhaust systems
« on: June 07, 2015, 02:36:54 PM »

I just installed Jekill and Hyde exhaust system on my 2013 Harley Davidson Road King CVO 110 ". I love sound and look!
The engine goes way to lean so I have to run it in dyno bench. my big question, Tuning with open or closed exhaust system or even Auto? I was recommended the Harley's own screaming eagle race tuner "SERT". what and how, proceed in the best way?

The Race Tuner is now called the Screamin' Eagle Super Tuner Pro. There may have been some features added.

Her in the U.S., we have both HD dealer dyno tuning facilities and independent (non-HD dealership) tuning shops.  Some of the dealers have a good dyno tuner technician, but many do not.  Of course, not all the independents are good, either--you have to check.

Do you have independent tuning shops in Norway?  Are they good? (or better than the dealer?)  The general advice here is "find a good tuning technician, and use the tune system (TTS, PowerVision, SEPST, etc.) they prefer.

my big question, Tuning with open or closed exhaust system or even Auto?

In your case, since your exhaust can adjust quickly from very restrictive to very open, you might need two different tunes (I don't know this for certain).  IF it does, the FuelMoto PowerVision might be the way to go, since it holds up to 6 different "maps," and you can quickly switch from one map to another, without a computer present (both TTS and SEPST require a computer to switch maps).  Here is their web site: http://www.fuelmotousa.com/p-28398-dynojet-power-vision.html

Good luck.

I have found a Harley dealer who has good reputation on dyno tuning, tuning also other motorcycle brands ...
In the 2013 catalog Harley Davidson tuning kit called Screaming Eagel Street Preformance tuner kit ...
I would think tuning in open mode, and ecm O2 sensor takes care of auto adjust something when closing the exhaust?
Anyway, I will leave this to the dealer how to do it..

Thanks for all the feedback!
