2010 flhxse stock mufflers
« on: June 05, 2015, 10:32:36 AM »

Does anyone know what the name of the stock mufflers are on the 2010 se street glide? They look like HD street cannons! Are they 4 inch or 4.5 inch and what size are the headers? Are they 3 inch?
Am looking to do some mods but need to know the specifics of what I am starting with. Any help would be appreciated!

Stock CVO mufflers are just that. They aren't Street Cannons or any upgraded part, unless you bought yours used and it happened to come with them.

The muffler bodies are 4", which is bigger that the stock mufflers on the non-CVO bikes. The inlet (the part that joins into the header pipe) is the standard diameter which I don't remember the number, but I'm sure someone will chime in regarding that.

Not sure what mods you plan to do, but a very popular one is the Fullsac mod. You can either de-cat your headpipe, or buy a catless one like the Fullsac Sport pipe or DX pipe. Then, you can choose from the various Fullsac baffles (most go with the 2"), and put those into your stock CVO mufflers. Of course, you will also need a tuner if you don't have one, as you will need a new fuel map. Fullsac sells the TTS Mastertune, and provides a very good fuel map that will match the mods you've done. This package is as good as anybody's.

But, if you plan on getting a dyno tune, use whichever tuning device your chosen tuning guy is most comfortable using.

I see you live on the border. If you're aren't already aware, you can save a bundle by getting a US shipping address from one of many places that provide them, and save on shipping charges and brokerage fees (and sometime save on the HST if it is something you can easily install on the bike while your Stateside  ;).

Thanks for the input Northstar. Lots to consider. I am happy about everything with the bike except how it sounds at anything less than 3000 rpm. The stock exhaust just don't say 110 cubic inches until you wake them up.

First priority is to get a catless headpipe. Will free up the flow for less heat, and better sound and performance. Then choose from one of the many slip on mufflers available. You can always find used sets in the classifieds here, and other forums.

Sound is a very subjective thing, so it's hard to make recommendations.  The option North Star gave you is a very popular one around here, and is especially great for those who wish to keep the stock appearance.

Your stock pipes are standard sized pipes with a catalytic converter located in the collector, and your mufflers are 4.0 inch OD mufflers that are higher flow than what comes on a non-CVO model, but as you noted they are still pretty quiet.  The pipe outlets and muffler inlets are the standard 1.75" diameter btw.
