They seem like a great idea, anyone with experience using/installing them?

I may check into to these more myself.  Wondering more about the attachment.  I think it's velcro? Not caring to much for that.

Never had a need for these. Not sure who does? People who live on gravel roads?

Nope, people like me that don't usually have the best of luck.  Jus seems like cheap insurance for a $500 LED headlamp and $300 pass lamps.  :nixweiss:

Wonder if these (to put it carefully) live "outside" of any DOT lighting guidelines?

States they are held on with 3M dual lock. Probably clear at least it was on the Goldwing headlight guards. Held on well wasn't pretty.

I used the Cee Bailey light protectors over the driving lights on my last Ultra. They work great! Held on by velcro and easily removed if you want to go back to the stock look. The biggest advantage I found is that they really improve your forward visibility to others.  I tried both amber and yellow lenses. If you use the yellow people sometimes think you're LEO when approaching.  :)

Anytime the folks selling lighting stuff don't mention DOT compliance, you can bet they don't comply.  I for one would question how sticking a chunk of plastic  to the outside of the lens with Velcro would affect the optical performance of the lights.  For those prices, I doubt these are precision ground lenses.

Why all the worry about protecting the lens of the lamps anyway?  Are guys riding off-road, or on gravel roads, and having their lights broken on a regular basis?  I rather doubt it.  I've never had a headlight lens broken on anything I've driven or ridden in over forty years.

Kind of reminds me of those SUV's driving around on the highways with the big brush guards on the front end.  Never even been on a dirt road, much less out in the boondocks, so unless they lose control and drive through the shrubs when they come home drunk, I rather doubt they really need those things.

What a novel concept Jerry, an aftermarket product designed with an actual need in mind rather than a target audience....  :huepfenlol2:

As I mentioned earlier, these people must live on the few gravel roads left in the US. Also why worry about it, they are covered under you comp insurance if a flying object breaks them. Some states mandate no deductible on glass breakage which includes the high dollar auto headlamps so why not LED bike lights, And most folks, myself included have $0 deductible on there comp so a new light is free no matter what state you live in.

I use the yellow lens on my driving lights to be more visable. Put a set of trim rings on and I like the look.

I will never find out about gravel anywhere except the US, Would not leave this country for any of the others. I live in central Florida and I honestly do not know of a unpaved road anywhere around here unless it is someones long driveway.
And if someone wants plastic headlamp/passing lamp covers go far it. I don't, but if you do more power to you.

These LED passing lamps are made of a lexan/plastic material. They are tough as hell. One of my friends crashed his ultra with these led lamps. The bike slid on a gravel road at like 50. Ground the begeeses out of his bike and the passing light lens got all gouged and scratches. Did not brake or shatter. Still worked. During the rebuild he took the lamp to a body shop that wet sanded all the scratches off and re polished it to brand new condition. It was like magic. Cost was $0 dollars. Took the body guy 15 min. Magic.
