Yep, it's not good in Greenbrier County.  Crooked Jim Justice's "The Greenbrier" golf course is under 3' of mud.  I look for the environmentalists whackos to pin this on global warming and Coal Mining.  The Governor, "cousin Earl Ray", has declared a State of Emergency.  4 dead, and 1 family unaccounted for, thus far.  Very, very sad.  Prayers for families of those that did not survive.  Later--HUBBARD

Yep, thought about you last night Carl.  Sure hope you and yours is staying high and dry.  I pray for those people back there.  If something has to be lost, a golf course is better than homes, infrastructure, etc.

WV is having floods and Cali is having wild land fires non stop.  We've been having our share of earthquakes lately also....but no damage other than a couple of bottles of liquor falling off the shelf at a country store.

The fires are causing a lot of damage to watershed that will result in mudslides this fall and winter.  :nixweiss:

Both states are having a rough go of it. In the meantime were moving from tornado alley to sink hole alley. Fires have to be a bear to fight I hope and pray everyone in California is ok too.

We were extremely lucky down here around the Bluefield area. We missed the storms Wednesday entirely and only had one narrow band pass through Thursday evening. Just to the northeast of us, in Greenbrier County, they got hit with both events and the storms simply "trained" one after another from Wednesday on. Route 60, the road we took during the WV GTG last year between Fayetteville and White Sulfur Springs, was basically impassable with water and mudslides, that area is where more folks were affected. Wednesday evening the area near Hinton got 6 inches of rain in 40 minutes.

Needless to say we will be avoiding the affected areas during this years WV GTG because it will take a while to clean up and fix the roads.

Yep, it's bad.  My FEATHERLITE Store in White Sulphur Springs, took a thumping.  Couldn't get Flood Ins, so we gotta' eat it.  ServPro wanted $100K to make it "look like it didn't even happen", but we talked them into letting us rent their Equipment, with my people doing the labor, for $25K.  Coulda' been a lot worse.  I'm just thankful none of our people were injured, or worse.  The "greeniacs" and "environmentalist whackos", have already started blaming it on Mining, and Logging.  Morons.  Myself......I'd say we got too much rain in a relatively short period of time.  But what do I know?  Again, very thankful everybody lived to fight another day.  Later--HUBBARD

Hub
Hate to hear about the store, but know you will get it lined back out. At least it is still standing, unlike many home and such in the area..
