Led Driving Lights with Lenses Lenses for brake lights?
« on: August 01, 2015, 10:41:39 PM »

I was wanting bright brake lights. The it dawned on me. What if I took my 2" 10 watt 700 lumens driving lights and used transparent red paint to turn them into brake lights? If too bright would people run me over anyway? I really don't care what the law thinks about it.
I am putting 3.5" 25w 2500 lumens led driving lights on front. This is why I have the other leds to make into brake lights. What are some of your thoughts?

Custom dynamics has a insert that has approx. 100 LED's, it is very bright. Check it out, much simpler than rubegoldberging driving lights on the back. If you couple the turn signals with a run/turn/brake module and use led inserts in them as well you have about 196 led's combined in the tail light/turn lamps when you brake.

Ok thanks. I will check it out now. I was thinking transparent red tail
Light paint because it was cheap and I had the extra led lights since
getting the new driving led lights

Without giving it much thought yet my first concern is the painted lens would stay brake light red through most of the first rain storm.  Then, in the rain, someone behind you would see two white lights and have no clue what was going on in front of him/her.

VHT makes a red tail Light paint that is spayed on the outside of a clear lense. I was going to spay the paint on the inside of the lens
