Helmet communication
« on: July 02, 2015, 08:56:53 PM »

Hi All
Just wondering what you guys do for communication with the wife on the back.
We have a Sena system already but this cant work with the Harley system. Is it possible to fit the rear com port and wiring from the Ultra ??  :nixweiss:

No rear com port. Not on a Rushmore street glide.  Three dealers have told me that that the wiring harness is different and I've seen confirmation on other threads here and on other forums.  The head unit doesn't support the Bluetooth headset protocol either so you can't use one of them through the head unit to get music, phone or CB.

Another thank you to the Johnson Control guy who ran HD into the ground when it comes to quality, service and features.

If you haven't already, check out J&M Audio at:  http://www.jmcorp.com/index.htm
They make pretty good bike electronics and some of it is pretty versatile.  They could be a good source for you if you've exhausted your Harley options.  I bought some gear from them years back, and their customer service was very good back then, and the products were first rate.

I set up a SENA 20S paired with SENA BT10 and was able to send voice commands to GPS worked great. Wired the BT10 into the 280plug in the fairing 2 wires I did order the plug from Ebay for $9 But not really needed. The BT10 is very small and fits in the USB compartment. It will also work to transmit on the CB
For now I am only using it one way I listen to everything out of the speakers but it should also work 2way with the addition of 2 more wires. Both my wife and i can use the CB  GPS and phone while talking to each other.
