My bike doesn't backfire, and certainly not on acceleration. Hopefully some of the experts will chime in here, but it doesn't sound right to me.

Not normal........with a good person tuning it. Maybe normal with a dealer tune from the dealer you used. Have a 2015 CVO Fulsac DX Head pipe, Crusher slipons. Everything else stock. No Backfire!!

Make sure there are no air leaks in the exhaust system first.  If that's OK, then go to the manager of that dealership and insist he give you your money back for that so-called tune, then go find someone who knows what they're doing and has a stellar reputation.  Most dealerships do not have fully qualified tuners on staff, but that doesn't stop them from selling half-azzed tunes to the uninformed.

Did you mean to say "decelerating?"  Definitely should not have any backfire on acceleration.  That mechanic should be shot if he said it's normal to have b/f on acceleration.

If the b/f is on deceleration, take grc's advice.
