Passenger Floorboards Installation Question
« on: April 02, 2012, 08:23:25 PM »

Okay I ordered the floorboards that were suggested on this forum.  Down to the last part number.   Got them in the mail today and installed them.  I just have one question to ensure I've got this right.  I'm not feeling all warm and fuzzy about the upper floor pad which has the rubber underneath being pressed into the bottom floor board base and only held by a small set screw that sets itself against rubber?   Is that right?  I know it also has the mating for the pins too but seems to me that when I'm riding 1 up the top floor pad would vibrate right out and onto the road?  I guess I need some confidence from this group to tell me not to worry.  :2vrolijk_21:Or I have missed something on the install.     They look nice!

I had the same concern. I kept a check on them when I would stop and have had no problems. Most of the time my BSR is on anyway so they are being used. I took them off a couple of months ago to do something else and the rubber was in there pretty darn good. That set screw will sink into it pretty good. Just make sure you have them pushed in good before you tighten it up. Some folks I know have put silicone under the rubber. I did not and have had not problem. Hope this will help.
