anyone running 777's on a tuned stage 3?
« on: October 07, 2015, 04:29:39 PM »

hello there ladies and gents..  :huepfenjump3:

ok, heres the deal, im somewhat happy with the bike when i drop the hammer at hwy speeds, IF im in the right gear, otherwise i have to down shift to put the revs up past 4k..

thats not my riding style, i hate it when my motor is trying to reach for the clouds, im more of an idle to 4500 rpm guy.. and almost ALWAYS cruise at around 2k, which means to benefit from the 259's at 55-65, i have to drop it from 6th down to 4th unless im up high at around 75-80mph for which i dont enjoy due to no wind protection..

so im thinking the 777's, read and researched and it was either the 555's or 777's and leaning towards the 777' cause my compression is already bumped to 10+

what do you guys think?

anyone have this setup and how is it? what should i watch out for if anything?..

The 555 at 10.5 has been done countless times and will produce a big fat tq curve, the 777 would work as well but will shift the curve to the right.

The 555 at 10.35 and the 777 at 10.45 is where we set those here.
The 777 will mirror the 555, just more of it.
S&S lifters, new cam bears.
Bob Lobenburg, of RC Cycle's, Hayward, California, just tuned a 107"(that we had just resurected from another outfit's "kit")with those 777's/our Stage III Super-Tour Head, a 58 S/E t/body and a Fatcat.
123/124, sae.
Prior was 109/111.
Same squeeze, same cubes, just the heads and t/body did it. :)
Client it happy..............now.
