The pump and plate kit are a very nice item decent price and really work very well.  As for the valve springs there are many choices.. Beehive tend to be the most popular and many that sell a kit that will offer the correct seat psi range  with the stock valve stem protrusion of the 110 head.  AV&V is one company Comp cams is another Kibblewhite , Pac  ,PSI the list goes on..

The spring kit will need to be check for proper pressure and set up correctly.. Many will bolt the spring pack in without doing that and most times the AV&V 600 or the 650 will fall into the range .

If you are not able to do this work then I would suggest you let a pro do it .. Cheaper to pay for the work done correctly then have a issue and it damage engine components.  These are stock heads and cast so with that things are not always as they should be.,  Good luck

With reasonable mechanical skills, a service manual and the appropriate hand tools, you should be able to replace the cam plate and oil pump...  (and remove/replace your cylinder heads)  :2vrolijk_21:

S&S has there kit and Dan has his kit.. And in the end that is for them to work out .

Nothing against Dan great guy..

But there was a ton of testing and S&S has the results. And as for them being the same pump well that is not 100% correct.  Be it flow rates, gear  rotor size etc..  To say they are the same is just not factual.

SE plate, Dan T kit S&S kit all work great. Buy from who ever you like..  ALL listed there work extremely well and will provide outstanding results.  Good luck

The stock units do work very well . If they are in good shape no reason not to re use them during a build. I feel for the high performance engines that there are gains to be had with a performance style pump and plate.  Decreased oil in cranks case , increased rigidity in the plate, less aeration of the oil with separate scavenge gears .

I have seen 100+ thou on stock pumps that still work as they did new. Crank runout is the largest issue when it comes to pump and plate damage/ wear  ( not speaking about engine failure and running junk through the oil system)

Signs of failure can be reduced oil pressure both hot and cold. But 40 K is nothing to worry about. Enjoy riding  :2vrolijk_21:
