I usually grab the salted peanuts as long as I have a coke or sports drink to go with it.  Second choice is the cheese or peanut butter crackers.

A couple ziplock bags of Almonds and Jerky in the RG glove box, can eat them going down the road, and a bottle of water on handle bars.

I don't normally eat when I ride.  Whenever I do a road trip my wife sneaks a pound of cooked bacon somewhere on my bike.  My friends and I usually find it and scarf it down sometime before lunch.   I'm getting older so she recently switched to turkey bacon to keep me somewhat healthy.

Blueberry Pop Tarts. Half-life of 5,000 years. Impervious to heat, cold, water, nuclear fallout, etc. They never go bad.........

Wife keeps PB crackers and some kind of granola bar on the bike along with my must have lifesavers peppermint.  I try to include a few bottles of water so we can hydrate when we stop.

Besides lots of water, I always have 3-4 single wrap Spam slices. It's all the protein and fat you need for 4 hrs., and enough sodium for 3 days.
