Help with noise when turning to ignition
« on: September 23, 2015, 09:56:58 AM »

When I turn the switch to ignition I get a humming or buzzing noise that gets louder. It seems to be coming from the fairing   Even if I turn the on/ off thumb switch to off it continues so its not the EFI.  When I turn the switch to accessory it stops.

Any one experience this?  Is it something to worry about?

Do you hear the sound through the speakers?

Which bike are you talking about?

I was going to suggest the radio amplifier, but that is also powered up in the accessory position, not just the ignition position.  I'd still be inclined to believe it has something to do with the amp anyway.  The best way to figure it out would be to remove the outer fairing so you can put your hands on the parts until you isolate the one that's buzzing.  The old batwings come off really easily and quickly.
