Removing the Lower fairings depends on what year your bike is. Meaning if it has the dual cooling important parts are in them so prolly don't want to take them off. If it is say 2013 or older you might just take out the adjustable doors and that will help. You might contact Fullsac, a vendor on this site. Making a few changes and a proper dyno tune will do the most to cool things off.

The discussion has been before that those lowers are actually designed to help funnel air towards the engine as opposed to blowing right past and onto your legs. I have no scientific proof of any of those claims though.

If your bike is stock with stock exhaust and tune, then you should start there before removing the lowers. If you do remove the lowers, the heat will escape better--the motor won't run cooler, but you may not feel it on your legs as much in traffic---MAYBE.

I would start with exhaust and a good tune if you have not done that already

Definitely cooler on the legs.  Looks better, too, IMHO.  And, it will reduce some hi-speed wobble, if you're an aggressive rider.  Some will disagree, but that's a fact of my experience.   8)  Later--HUBBARD
