Condor PS1500 question
« on: November 02, 2015, 12:22:47 PM »

Just purchase the Condor Pitstop Wheel Chock that doubles as a bike stand.

Would anyone know when using it as a bike stand in the garage, would you need to secure it to the floor?

Thanks

I have used tis Condor Chock in the past, I never bolted it to the floor. However, I would put a block of wood in the middle of the front to prevent the chock from moving forward when you drive into/on to it. It has a tendency to move forward.

In the end I switched to the Wheel Dock as it is easier to pull the bike straight rearward out of the chock, as the wheel Dock is flatter and you don't have to pull up and back on the handle bars to back the bike out of the chock.

Just my .02 cents,

I've hed the Condor for several years.  At some point, you will want to secure it to the floor.  I had a couple of 1/4" hooks in the tool box.  Borrowed a masonry drill bit and Drilled two holes in the concrete.  Now I don't worry about the chock moving.

been using mine for over 10 years.  have never had any problem with it not being bolted to the floor.  when pulling into it, do not have any problem with it moving.

I just drilled two holes and slid some 1/4 x 20 x 2" bolt in. I can just pull them out and all is well. Before I did that, I had a hard time backing the bike out after it was in there for a while.

3 bikes & 3 Condors!
I have no problem backing off or riding on!
I don't have them bolted to the floor.

Have 2 Condors, been using them 2005 and have never experienced the slipping problem the fellow above had, nor do I have any trouble getting into or out of the stands. Use them every day and would not go back to kickstand for anything.

I have mine on a Motorcycle lift and it is unsecured for over 5 years. I happen to store my bike on the lift all the time.
The condor's do take a little more effort backing the bike out.

Yea, the effort was more for sure. Mine just kept slipping on the garage floor as I tried to back out so I finally said screw it and drilled two holes and put the bolts in. I didn't use an anchor so they pull right out. Maybe I just have a slippery garage floor.......

5 bikes with condors on the ground not bolted down.   As long as I put them in the garage no worries simple friction zone ride on.  they will slide if you go on them to fast if they are not bolted down.   More common sense than anything else.   I bought the trailer mounts for them as well so when we take the trailer they go with the bikes.
