Been there several times myself Gary, it does cause a rapid heartbeat for a second or two, especially with the fool gauge buried at E.

On the CC trip I was amazed when running gas without ethanol added how many miles I could go, never went farther but the fill up took a lot less fuel.  Wouldn't have been confidant enough to try a longer ride.  Also, nothing wrong with a stretch and walk about while fueling. Same discussion we had, Rog- In CC I got 200 miles on a tank for the CUSE!? Is it the ethanol?

Al, it is the lack of ethanol.  All us city folk get the ethanol because of the pollution from exhausts but the country folk get the undiluted gas (shine too) that gives all the mileage.

I, too, use mileage, but it seems my mileage varies a lot with right-wrist action.  So, I've been noting the position of the 'fool gauge' at fill-ups, and found that when it shows 1/2 tank, I have about 1 gallon left. So, 1/2 on the fool gauge indicates my 'reserve'.
My 96 RK (carbed) was deadnutz on.  Wife's 04 RK is wacked out. In for dealer adjustment 3 times, finally decided 'they all do that'.  She gets better mileage than I do, for some reason. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

[smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] Sorry Mrs We, I wasn't ignoring your helpful suggestion, I just now found the thread again!  I've tried and tried to make my wrist stop flopping down, to no avail. The devil makes me do it.  ;D
