saddlebag speakers
« on: November 29, 2015, 02:21:12 PM »

When I considered doing saddlebag speakers a couple of years ago and looked into it many said that you couldn't hear them above 50 mph or so. I really enjoy the music on my bike so I went ahead and did them but upgraded to Focal 7X10's with their own Arc 600 series amp. I still wasn't completely sure if I was hearing them that well or not at freeway speeds since I do wear a Schuberth FF helmet with Boarzilla pipes but overall I did hear the entire system great at speed though before I wasn't sure where exactly the sound was coming from. On Thanksgiving I rode to the Colorado river to meet my family which was a couple of hundred miles away. When I started up my bike on Friday to return, my front speakers were dead so I made the entire trip back with only the saddlebag speakers and I can absolutely tell you now they work great all the way up to about 85mph even with what I have going on.
I thought I would share since I see the question often here about whether or not they are worth doing or not.

Did you have the dealer flash your radio? If so what setup did you use?

I changed the head unit to a Kenwood. Bike at the shop that did the system now to figure out what went wrong with the fronts. Might be the head unit.
