Has anyone upgraded the audio on a 13 CVO king?
« on: December 24, 2015, 05:08:09 AM »

As the title states. Was wondering for those with a 13 CVO king if anyone has upgraded the stock audio system? If so what have you done? Looking to add a little more power as at 75-80 mph the stock setup is less than desireable especially if you have the windshield off...

I was actually going to making a post saying almost the same thing.  Having a sound system is nice, but the thing is an exercise in how much treble you can take at one time with no bass.  And, yes, it drowns out at Interstate speeds.  Anyone done anything to get more oomph out of the 2013 CVO Road King?

I am in the process of doing a major change on my 13 cvo king. I put a dead center fairing on last year and did not have enough money in the bank to go with top end equipment. I have the bike in the garage now for winter and its stripped down. going to be putting biketronic's 6x9's in the saddle bags powered by Rockford fosgate 2 channel punch amp, and polk 6 1\2's component speakers in the fairing, and polk 6 1\2's in the lower fairing. the 4 polks will be powered by a 4 channel Rockford fosgate punch amp. I heard these polks on my buddy's street glide with the 4 channel punch and they kick ass, very clean and somewhat very good bass also. The 6x9's I never heard but read some great reviews about them. I will post when completed but it wont be until early march.

I look forward to your future posts about this.  I'm trying to accomplish better sound without having a fairing, but the changes you are making should still give good direction.

I had Soundz Customz install their Focal level 4 system on mine. It is a major difference.

Here is a link to their website. http://soundzcustomz.com/ All 4 speakers were changed to Focals along with the amp in the saddlebag. I had them do mine at the Lonestar Rally in Galveston, Texas. I believe they are at most major rallies. It was not cheap but it is amazingly better. You can do a search on here also for soundz customz as quite a few members on here have used them.
