2014 CVO Road King with LED mirrors
« on: January 12, 2016, 01:52:43 AM »

CVO Member jpdChicago has a thread about having lighted mirrors on his bike with everything working properly. I have done the same with HD lighted mirrors on my 2014 RK CVO but there has been a hangup with trying to not keep the turn signals on the bike with the LED mirrors. I asked my dealership not to put on the turn signals and use the LED mirrors as my turn signals and after this was done it was realized that when the turn signals  were activated the LEDs and rear turn signals would flash normal , the  instrument panel flashes doubletime.. My dealership is  telling me that Harley factories telling them that the only way the instrument panel  will flush properly is to have the turn signals put back on the bike . Does anyone know how I can have the instrument panel work properly on the bike  without having a original  turn signals put back on the bike ????? thank you...

Try this:  Turn your emergency flashers on for about 20 seconds.  Your Canbus system should learn the load / resistance and the lights should work fine.  If that doesn't work the first time, pull your main fuse for about 30 seconds and then put it back in.  Then run the flashers again.   Good luck.

Thanks for the tip Greg. I will be talking to my dealership about your thought tomorrow. I tried to contact jpdchicago to find out what dealership and tech did his bike. I think it is possible to get all the electronics working properly, it just takes help and ideas  from people like yourself to figure out the problem. I will let you know either way if your ideas work or don't work, regardless thanks for your input. Jediatwork...

It worked for me.   Kuryakyn puts it in their directions for their LED signal lights.

If you are using the Harley LED turn signal mirrors please beware that they are not very bright and during daylight hours are not noticeable at all.

But as for your question....yes they will work.  I have them installed on my 2014 Road King and had the OEM turn signals removed and all worked fine.

Someone mentions to turn your 4 way flashers on for a minute or so should correct the flashing.

Good luck
