Hey everyone. I'm in talks with Chuck over at C&C about getting a solo seat made for my 07' SERK. Now, I've heard rumors that normal Road King Seats don't fit our CVO Road King frame. Not even the RK Custom ones. Like, they mount differently? What's the deal?

Does any one know what differences there are, if any, so that I can get a new seat that fits properly? Many thanks!

If you look in Harley's own catalog they show the same seats available for a 2007 SERK and a regular RK.  I'm not sure what rumors you heard, but they may be from misinformed folks repeating incorrect information.   Now in 2008 the seat mounting did change along with the change to the six gallon fuel tank on all the Touring models.  Look carefully at the specs for any seat you're considering; if it shows it fits 2008 and later models then it's not right for your bike.

The sundowner seat from my 13 RK fits my 14 SERK no problem.

GRC, thanks for the response. I did some digging around, and I think the only thing i could find was that the driver backrest-mount for the 07 SERK is mounted directly on the rear fender bolts. So, other 2-up or solo seats "won't fit" because that bracket is sitting there in the way. Looks like you simply remove that mount and any seat should fit then.

I just bought a really nice custom solo seat from someone who took it off their own 07' RK...I'll let you all know if it fits after i remove the stock backrest mount!
