I was reading that these are supposed to be high mileage tires. Alot of good stuff but a few said the compound is too hard making it slippery at time. Supposed to be same as the ME880 that it replaces but a different compound. Anyone got any input?

I have used them on my '05 SEEG (on it now).  Mileage is slightly better, they feel the same as the 880's dry and a bit better wet.  I did have a cupping issue with the front tire and discovered the pressures are different from the 880's.  Contacted Metzeler for proper pressures and giving them another try.  I usually get about 9-10K out of a rear 880.  Did 11K + on the 888.
