when my 08 TR had this symptom I took in to the local dealer and told them to tighten up neck bearings. They did fall away and said the neck bearings were good to go. They proceeded to change front tire out, same problem. Started looking at brake rotors and such. They called tech support and they said I shouldn't be riding with hands off bars.  :drink:

My initial complaint was when deaccelerating at low speeds (40-30) wobble with hands off bars. I choose do work on my own rides now.

Oh Boy! That's what my dealer said...or tried to. I caught the SM about half way into the hands off the bars and put a stop to that.  BTW; after tightening the bearings I have gone 25 thousand on that same front tire (and more left) with no more wobble.

You had no problem, you bought a tire and had a problem. Why did you look anywhere else? When they rebalanced it, was it out of balance? or did they just jerk the weights off and re-spin it? If it wasn't out of balance when they rechecked it, then why rebalance and re-install?
At some point here you must step in and voice an educated opinion as it appears you are dealing with a normal tire mounting/wash boy who has no idea or training either from HD or experience.

Several years ago when I came in right after the 20K service, as in 10 minutes after I picked the bike up due to the 45 to 35 deceleration wobble.  Told the new service writer they adjusted my neck bearings wrong during the service.  He ask how I knew, told him took my hands off the bars slowing down for a red light and got the wobble.  Started to tell me about not suppose to take hands off bars.  Pretty much told him, that was BS.  Owner over heard, told service writer to get the mechanic that the bike should not do that with hands off the bars.

Mechanic comes out.  I tell him whats going on, and then asked if he did adjusted it to the road glide specification.  Got the blank look from him.  So I explain there are separate specs for the road glide.  Sure enough, when adjusted to road glide spec it was just fine.

I always do the hands off the bar deceleration test each time I pick the bike up.  Also always remind them at time of service to do the neck bearing for a road glide, its different.  I make the Service writer write it on the work order.

Dave confirms what I said. Most of the people you know and trust at the dealer (??), have little to no training, will NOT take the time to check a manual or computer And treat you like your stupid when you question something they screw up but you have to step in and offer your educated opinion, because if you don't look out for yourself, no one will.
