Infotainment Background Display Colors
« on: March 15, 2016, 10:46:46 PM »

Sorry for what is probably a stupid question; tried searching first but found no info.  I found in settings on how to change background colors, but don't see any colors changing!  What exactly is supposed to change??

Your screen background colors can be changed to any one of a bunch of different colors.  Go back and try it again.  You may not be saving the colors properly before backing out of the screen.  It changes the colors of the backgrounds, not the text.

One other thought.  Go check your manual.  These systems also have an optional "night" mode, which, if I remember correctly, (Snow hit before I could get many miles on last year) defaults to a preset, night vision friendly, color scheme when it thinks it's night.  If you're trying to set the color schemes at "night" you may have to turn off the night mode switch and try then.

Southside,

I got a chance to look this up this afternoon.  This is what the manual says:

1. Select Home > Setup > Colors.

2. Press the multiselect button until the desired color mode
is displayed.

a. Day Colors: Screen shows brighter colors.

b. Night Colors: Screen shows darker subdued colors.
Navigation map is also shown in night color scheme.
No other background colors can be selected while in
night color mode.

c. Automatic Colors: Screen automatically adjusts
day/night color modes according to ambient light
measured by the sensor in the speedometer.

Double check the ambient light when you're trying to change the screen colors.  It appears that if it's too dark and you're in automatic mode you can't change colors.  IF that's the case, try switching to day mode and try again.

Hope this helps.

Thanks SO much!  I'll try that out when I get home tonight.  Still not real warm here yet either; managed to get 500 miles in over the weekend though!
