I did some cam chest work just a few days ago. Part of the work included S&S timesaver pushrods and covers. After I installed the set, I noticed that the covers moved when the engine was turned over. I contacted S&S and was told that the covers had to be cut off (shortened). Nothing in the paperwork that came with them, but I cut them as instructed. I still have one that is contacting (rear intake). I'm not real warm and fuzzy with this set up right now and am thinking of going in another direction.
I'll be pulling the pushrods as soon as I can get time. I'll be able to see where they are rubbing then. Anyone have a suggestion of how to either fix this once and for all or another product that will fit properly without having to modify? It's not hard work, just want to be done fiddling with this.
BTW: I see that others are setting the pushrods at 3.25 turns. I set mine at S&S recommended 4 turns. Am I going too tight for a 110?
Thanks!
