Beehive Springs For Stock Cam?
« on: April 05, 2016, 12:03:52 PM »

I'm thinking about swapping out my lifters on my '09 and at the same time checking out the rocker shafts for clicking.

While I'm there I was thinking that beehive springs may be better as they do not resonate as easily at various rpms like standard dual springs do and the seat pressure will be more manageable on the cams.

So "IF" I were to swap out to beehive springs, which ones would be good to match current stock spring travel?

Thanks.

I used S&S "585" springs. Amount of valve noise seems to be less. Also am a big fan of rocker lockers.

AV&V springs. They're the same ones S&S sells. Good spring.

Thanks guys...

I assume the "585" refers to the lift potential of the spring and cam lobe lift.

Do the AV&V springs come in different sizes?  For a stock setup, what length of the AV&V springs?

Thanks everyone for your input.  I think I have a good place now to start my searching.

One last question, do I have 5/16" or 7mm valves in my '09 110" SERG?

Have a great day guys...

5/16.

I ordered the AV&V 600" cam springs for my build.

Above on the Goodson web, it looked like they were out of stock. Don't know if that was a snap shot of the springs just for show.

Good luck.

A good reference that shows the specs of both springs on same page, and price.
