It can be a head scratcher talking to customers about baffle size.  Bigger is always better, right?  Take away the guys that want the HP on the right for bragging rights, but for the guys that actually understand where and how they ride.  Anyway, this is how I try and explain it to them.

If a 2-1 w/ a 2.5 baffle can support 140hp.  Why do you think you need two mufflers with 2.25 baffles in each for a 110 build shooting for 125?  Error on the side of small.  Worse case, it builds great tq and you loose 3-5 from the right.  Better closed loop sampling, less pms while tuning, and IMO a good exhaust that fits the build sounds better than a big booming can that sounds like a virago with baffles pulled.

You keep stating facts like this and Reinhart is going to go out of business  :2vrolijk_21:LMFAO

As we discussed, the 2.25 is too big for the DX, but how would my build work for low end torque with the OEM and the 2.25?

The issue I see is that I have never tuned a 113 with a stock head pipe then you add in the larger cam, higher flowing heads and larger t/b ... = loss of power and tuning issues with a stock head pipe if I had to guess..  You cannot compare a 107 or stock 110 to something like you currently have.  And with a 2-1 you have a merge collector ,  something you do not have..  you have a stock header with a big open can and then a hard right turn for the ex to flow so as we know it's going to be more right side ex flow than left..  I have tuned some smaller engines with the stock head pipe and it made good tq but hp did not do so well.. I do not care what the goal is its a air pump and if you cork it off you upset the balance.  Your 113 is something that has gone 130/132 , in the past with a DX and 2.0 ..  larger engines respond differently and I have seen that first hand.

Had a FM head pipe and mufflers..  Steve ( fulsac) do you recall that screwed up tq curve all created by the muffler...??   That system worked great with a  ported head ported t/b and 10.5 comp 107 kit with woods 777  but on the 113 it was a huge issue..  There are times when you step over the line and some times its a huge step to create a issue other times it a tiny step

Thanks Steve. I left the bike with Dave, as he wanted me to ship him the DX to swap back on. He has my Rineharts and my Fullsac 2.0's, so lucky for me he is willing to spent some extra time to make it right. I think your 113 kit has him intrigued, as I don't think he has had one in his hands before. He is also going to double check the cam timing as you suggested. Thanks for your time, and hopefully things will work out.

Also, although I really wanted to keep my Rineharts because I love them, I may just have him put the Fullsac's on with the DX, because we know that is a winning combo with your 113 kit, and if the issues persist, then we will know something else is wrong.

I really can't see the Rineharts being a torque killer like the CFR's and High Outputs are, but since he is going above and beyond with his efforts, and he is a very busy guy, it might be the best thing to do straight away to save him spending time experimenting.

He will have the DX on Friday, so see what happens.
