Audio Upgrade?
« on: April 22, 2016, 09:46:05 PM »

Hello from Cincinnati!

I have a 2015 Street Glide Special with a factory audio setup.  It's not bad, but I'm looking for a nice upgrade which provides more punch and clarity.  I want something that retains the factory look, is plug & play, and super reliable.   Can you make any suggestions?

I was looking at systems by Hawg Wired, Arc Audio, and Hogtunes, but wide open to other ideas as well.  On the surface, I like the idea of the Hogtunes System with two powerful front speakers, 200W amp, and two discreet saddlebag speakers.  No idea though on reliability or performance - and both are important!

Any suggestions that meet my criteria?   Thanks!

I had the full HogTunes set-up on my '08 Duracell since the first year... Still pounding out the tunes!

Pez and his team at HogTunes are wonderful to deal with too!

Won't go wrong with them, IMHO.

Did you do the install yourself? Did you have to have head unit flashed?

I let them do it in Daytona.  They had everything ready to go.  All wiring had harnesses. . I did not want to even think about doing it myself. . . A very important part of the install is the tuning. . Making sure thats all good will make a break the whole thing. .. Not sure if they had to flash the radio.  I wasn't paying attention. . His installs are Fantastic. . . Stuart

I've read great things about J&M Rokkers.  Would you say that speaker combination (with an amp installed in the fairing) are a HUGE upgrade from factory?  I honestly feel like the factory setup isn't terrible, but I am looking for more of a punch with great clarity.  I assume spending $900 or so that would be the case.  Care to weigh in?
