New Trans

Just got word that Baker will be releasing a new trans for our bikes any day now. It is called the Grudge Box. It is a direct replacement 6 speed with OD. This will be what I will be looking into if I decide to change out my factory DD6 speed!!!!!

How do the ratios of 1 through 5 compare to the stock box?

Not for nothing I will not be jumping on that boat any time soon.. I will wait until they fix the issues,, Sorry but  too many times the NEW baker product has problems and its up to the guy doing the install to eat the labor once more to fix or replace it with the newest item.  The DD6 had massive issue's OD6 same thing , ramp * changes , shift forks , shift drums , pillow blocks the list goes on and on.. I am glad to see a new box however lets see what happens when it is released and out there running for 30K  then I might give it a try.. Trans are major work to re do .. and lets not forget the upfront cost involved in that 3000 G for the unit.. 2 months out still .. But it will have a stronger main bearing, no info on if that bearing can be used in a stock or DD7 yet though.. 

The street cut is without a doubt the best way to go no more loading of the trap door.. a slight over drive is also a bonus .. :2vrolijk_21:

Joe and ultrafxr, Thanks for the info. Interesting that they're making this; they already have the OD6 available.  The Grudge has a shorter 1st and 6th than the OD6, so easier to get off the line and more zip in 6th.

The O.D. gearset are stronger than the Direct Drive.  Baker told me their Direct drive would not hold up to the big S&S motors, and recommend the O.D.

Yes that is list, BUT I don't pay list. I don't know my cost as of yet but as soon as I receive the trans I will let everyone know. I'm thinkin around 2500.00. I have already dumped a ton of money in the bike. this little bit isn't going to kill me now. I still need to pay to have my Bushtec painted to match the bike. I guess I will be keeping this bike for a long time.
