Tuners - SERT vs. Power Commander
« on: May 14, 2016, 01:15:45 PM »

I've always went the HD route, but I've heard guys swear by Power Commander turners.   New Fatboy in route, and thinking of trying something different.

The first thing everyone needs to learn is that there are people who swear by pretty much any product ever sold, including Yugo's.  My point being, just because some people swore BY Power Commanders (as opposed to swearing AT them), that doesn't mean you should blindly follow.

First, are you talking about the old fashioned Power Commander piggyback device, current version called a PC-V, or are you talking about a Power Vision which is also a product from DynoJet.  There is a huge difference, with the Power Vision being a modern flash tuning system versus that old add-on box from Power Commander.  Anyone running a modern Harley (2007 and later with closed loop engine management) would be better served with a flash tuning system.  Those include the SEPST from Harley, the Power Vision, the TTS Master Tune, and others.  If you plan to have the bike professionally dyno tuned, I'd suggest spending your time finding a top notch tuning person first, and then discuss the choice of system with him.

i have both the SE tuner and the TTS, the bike runs much better after tuning with the TTS...but that could be the users abilities/skill also. so i would recommend the TTS...so just be sure who ever is tuning your bike knows what they are doing, and lets see some pics of your bike...that avatar pic looks interesting  :2vrolijk_21:

The picture is cut off and I cannot see the plane behind.

Can you crop the picture or tell us what plane is back there?

The whole picture is too big for the site.  It was taken at Ellsworth AFB, just East of Rapid City SD.  The plane is a B-1.  Picture was taken during the annual Mayor's Ride that happens during the Sturgis Rally.  It's an escorted ride to Sturgis and lunch for Vets.  Usually followed by a B-1 flyover down Main St., weather permitting.

Never been that close to the B-1.
I volunteer each year at the Lakeland Fl, Sun N Fun fly in. We use bikes to escort planes through pedestrian areas. Keeping prop and peps apart.
