Hemi Under Glass 'cuda

Not a rider but a really special car.  Still vividly remember my dad taking me to see this car run when I was a kid.  Have got to see it just a few times since at shows.  Always loved this car.  Thankfully the engine and tranny are fine.  But the body and more are toast.  Thank goodness Bob Riggle came through it ok as well.  He said it's only the second time in about 50 years of driving the car he's had an accident.

Gotta love wheel standers.

Oh yeah, Jay Leno was ok too.

Saw that earlier today.  Pretty violent wreck!  "2,500 horse power on two wheels … what could go wrong?”

Now that's a "HossCat!"  I always liked MOPARS, but I've never owned one, personally.  I remember back in the day, I bought a new '70 Model, SS-454 Chevelle, 4 sp., Red w/Black Stripes.  Beautiful car!  Wadded it up though, like I did everything when I was drinkin'!  One of my buds had a Dodge Dart, GTS Swinger, with a 340 Six-Pack, 4-sp.  I think it came stock with a 4.10 gear.  Man, that thing would fly!  He was the man, as far as our local Saturday nite Red-Neck Street Racing went, 'till Ol Hub put a 4.56 gear in the Chevelle, and wore his a$$ out!  Ah.....the memories!  Later--HUBBARD

I heard Bob was trading it in on a Indian. Mikey T and Don are helping him pick it out.   :P

 :cherry:
I worked summers back in the early/mid 60s at a Chevy Dealership.  One of the mechanics was also a member of the local drag strip official crew.  It was an old air strip north of town and he had a key to get us in after work.  If somebody "broke" a part while out there,  like a rear end or trans, etc.  Somehow it would get "warranteed......." later that week via some customers Chevy.  They would still have a good part (trans, etc.) and we would somehow have a new "good" part too. :nixweiss:

One of the guys had a stock '63 Imapaa with a strong 327.   We put some 4:56 gears in it and blew off all the GTOs in town.  Required going for second gear before you cleared the intersection on the start. ::)

I built Fords "Little Yellow Wagon" , first match race we ever had was with Bill Shrewsbury driving the "Hurst Hemi" car in 1965 at Quaker City Dragway. Then on to the U.S. Nat's. in Indy from there.
