Hi Vincent.  What engine and bike are you considering installing these cams in, what is your intended use of the bike, and what other modifications are you planning to do to support the cams?  This all factors into a cam choice.

Hi Vincent
Mine is the 2010 VRHXSE and the original cams nearly wrecked my motor (loss of surface hardening)so I then installed SE 585 cams and the difference is awesome...
I run the SERT and a high flow system and am attaining 112.8 HP and 128.8 FtLb of torque so she fly's...
I do a lot of touring and mountain riding, and on a recent run to Coober Pedy in South Australia, even the stage 5 lads could not shake me, (although the economy at extreme high speeds was NOT good) ::)
Even in peak hour traffic, the extra power is awesome....Possibly worth a look!!!

Good questions here; I had a built 103 with a 260 cam.  The only two good things about the build were the sound of the idle and the performance above 4k rpm.  Other than that, it was kind of an unimpressive cam.

I think there's a bike around locally with a 120r and a 260 cam - also kind of lackluster.  Again, cool idle sound but I'm not sure it's really the best cam in it's family.

My 117 kit came with a 259E cam.  It's a little smoother, more well behaved down low and has a little quieter valve train.  Not much though.

I don't think that helps.

I can say with confidence that I wouldn't swap either into a 110 without other supporting mods.

Not sure of the bike you are working on but I have the 260 in a bagger and even with the 10.5 pistons it is a dog till about 3200. Runs good once you get above that but how often are you going to be in that range? To pass a cage requires dropping 2 gears if you want to get around it before the next town.

Looks like a lot of wear on the cam lobe as well as this end in the pic. :nixweiss:

As far as i know the only SE engine that comes with the 260 cams is the 120R??
From your description and the look of the cam in the picture, i would be surprised if the whole motor is not trashed??
Do you have a Harley Dealer, an independent mechanic or are you working on the bike yourself?

In Indonesia, the authorized dealer was shut down...im using independent mechanic..i dont know what happened..everything is normal,i was change the oil with DS,1 month before disaster...and empty!!im really piss off with this one,no oil leak..everything normal, except the traffic in my country...and the engine is very hot...or because SE Cant accept DS Oil??still curious..
