If you want a whiter spot..check the GE Silverstar bulbs. I think they have one that fits the spotlights..

In case anyone's interested, I posted my observations, along with some photos and scans of the instructions here: http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1130032025

I wanted to let everyone know about a deal that jeffj filled me in on in case anyone's considering one of these headlights.  Between Oct 7, 2005 and Jan 31, 2006, you can get $100 off of the installation cost when installed at your H-D dealer.  That's a (ballpark) 50% savings on the labor of this fairly labor intensive install!  Be sure to mention promotion #136 in case your dealer is not familiar with it.  Mine was not, but when I mentioned the promo number that jeffj supplied me with, they were able to look the promo up and give me a credit on my account!

Thanks to jeffj for saving me $100!!! [smiley=2vrolijk_21.gif]

This tread was started over a year ago and I just wanted to know if everyone still likes the HID

I know my take is that it was a few coins but I think after getting it adjusted and use to it....well worth the coins  :2vrolijk_21:

I have read that a few other manufactures are producing something similar and wanted to hear input from people that went that route  :nixweiss:

Sound Off - please

When I bought my 06 FLHTCUSE the previous owner had the same head light installed plus a bunch of other items (talked to the selling dealer in NY apprx. 6K worth of xtrs) This being the first Harley since my 79 1200 SG, I wasn't sure just what all had been installed, now I'm very happy with the bike and cann't seem to find any more goodies to buy. May just as well start on the engine.
Just my two cents worth BTW Love the head light and passing lights too.

I have the HD version.  I agree, it took a while to get aimed correctly.  At first, I thougth it was a pos.  After a few attempts of aiming it, I like it a lot.
I live in an area of a LOT of big brown furry critters (A LOT).  The white light makes them stand out so much better than the conventional bulbs and it helps spot them down the road better too.  I've never had anyone flash me like when with the dual halogen either.
So can't help you with OTHER brands.  Do I think it is worth the $$.  Yes.   :2vrolijk_21:

Timmy,

I feel your pain as when I bought my 2006 scooter I went HOG Wild (Got an Extra 25% Off) and bought lots of Chrome and Accessories
Now when I go into a HD store I rarely ever see any new items that spark me to buy.....guess I will call that - Chrome Withdrawl  :2vrolijk_21:

Timmy, what are all the modes on your scooter?
