Rear LED signal Lights
« on: January 25, 2017, 03:00:46 PM »

Like the title states, I'm looking for a place to supply a rear led turn signal (left side). Here in Canadia (BC), HD wants $220.00 and two weeks to order it in. Now I half ass expected the price to be ridiculous, but 2 weeks? come on. Anybody know of where I could purchase one quicker than that? I'd be happy to pay freight and ship to Sumas Washington

Please & Thanks

Not sure if they sell to Canada (Eh?) but if an aftermarket will work for you, try either the Custom Dynamics or Kuryakyn websites.  Good Luck!

He has a 13 CVO KING it looks like. If thats the case my bet is only HD will sell that light as it's 1 of a kind and not your basic tail light!!

The turn signal/taillight units on the 2013 SERK are a proprietary part.  The left side unit part numbers are as follows:

69383-09A   T-SIGNAL ASY,LH,RED,W/SMK'D LENS  (Domestic)

69496-09B   T-SIGNAL ASY,LH,AMBER LENS/HDI   (HDI)

If you know someone in the US who is willing to order them and then reship them to you, that would be one way to avoid the Canadian pricing, but I seriously doubt it would be any quicker than ordering from the Canadian dealers.  There probably isn't much call for an American dealer to stock a part for export bikes, so odds are they would have to order it as well.

The turn signal/taillight units on the 2014 SERK are a proprietary part.  The left side unit part numbers are as follows:

69383-09A   T-SIGNAL ASY,LH,RED,W/SMK'D LENS  (USA)

69496-09B   T-SIGNAL ASY,LH,AMBER LENS/HDI   (Canada)

If this is a Canadian bike, the second one is what came stock.  The MSRP is $169.99 USD, and places like Surdyke sell them online for about $136 USD plus shipping.  Unfortunately they will not ship outside the USA.

Thank you for the reply.

What I have been coming up with is the 69383-09A (for the amber)?? That is what 3 different local HD shops were saying. Ordered one through a friend, his discount covered the air freight, should be in tomorrow. Will p/u Sat, keep ya'll posted.

The A on the part number suffix just indicates there was an engineering change to the part after it was originally released.  A second change would go to a B, third change a C, etc.

Does the bike currently have amber lenses or smoked lenses?  The 2014 model shows using the same smoked lights on Domestic and Canadian bikes, and the amber lens on other HDI export models.  I was under the impression the 2013 Canadian bikes used the HDI version with amber lenses.  If that's incorrect, and you have the  smoked lenses, then the first part number shown for Domestic models would be correct, not the one I originally highlighted in my first post.

Sorry if I screwed this up.

I have the amber lenses. I was told if I want to go to the smoked lenses I would need to obviously buy 2 lights, plus a different harness, and then wire in my brake light, as I have the fender mounted brake light. I will eventually go smoked, but just ordered another amber for now.

Well as expected, they sent the smoked lense. Weird thing is that they both have the exact same part number on the lenses??

Any ideas??

I have not tried but I think these can be taken apart and repaired. May require some time and a little cutting but there are plenty of products out there to reseal the units after you repair them. Would be no harder than all the tuner guys taking apart there headlamps and installing the halo's then resealing and all is well.
I know Oracle sells a product to reseal modified lights by the tube, probably just GE Black silicone, but who knows. And the lights inside would appear to be soldier connections that could be "heated" loose and repaired. LED's can be obtained individually now pretty easily. With all the fab work that has been done by folks on this site I would bet someone has already tried it.
The tuner guys actually put their headlamps in the pre-heated oven in your kitchen and allow them to warm the adhesive that secures back to front then just seperate the halves this way, pretty intense and you need some good gloves but it does work.

Yup.  What part number was on the box?  If it was 69383-09A, that was the number for the red light with smoked lens.  The amber model is part number 69496-09B.

I guess now you have a choice of sending that one back and ordering the amber version, or ordering the RH red with smoked lens part to get a matched set.  That number is 69407-09A.

Jerry, you're the man!!! Thank You so much, now they can order me the correct one. I even told them to be aware that this may be an issue. I do however prefer the look of the smoked lenses better, but then I'm on the hook for another light, a harness and someone to splice in my third (standard) brake light, as electrical is not my forte'

Cheers  :drink:
