I think a more obvious tip would be to learn and practice your security override code.  I did the extra battery thing.  when the battery in my fob died, I switched it out with my 'extra'.  that one died very shortly after.

I find it easier and more convenient to use my fob until the battery is obviously failing, and then stop by a dollar store and replace the battery, at my convenience.  if the battery completely dies before hand, then I just use the override code.  it just pisses me off to have a 'new' battery go dead so soon after replacing.  i'd rather buy a new battery with a longer shelf life when needed.

... so finally after 3 months the HD "xpress" service managed it to get me a new FOB  :orange:.
Well, I´ll wait till next spring to see the dealer to learn the FOB to the bike - far too cold now  8)

But: still waitin´4 the new inner fairing ... the MOCO seems to be world´s greatest patience-trainer.
