SG Rear Fender Facia on a 09 CVO Ultra
« on: July 05, 2011, 09:34:15 PM »

Howdy,

New to the forum. Just traded my 07 Street Glide for an 09 CVO Ultra. I want to regain that Street Glide rear end look so I'm looking to see if it is possible to put an 09 Street Glide rear fender facia on an 09 CVO Ultra. Anyone researched this yet?

Thanks

There have been numerous members that have either put the lower street glide tri-bar light/bag fillers on, or have actually replaced their rear fender with the 09, 10, or '11, SERG or SESG rear fender with the lowered end and the turn/running lights in the saddle bag filler strips.

That's awesome and thanks for the quick reply. Curious if anyone who has installed the lower street glide tri-bar light/bag fillers had any issues with the install or tips to make the install easier.

I think Don, Twolanerider, put it on one of his bikes, and he used the 3-M double sided tape that you can buy at auto parts stores, so that he didn't have to do any drilling of holes in the lower fender, then it was just a matter of, painting and doing the wiring for the tri-bar light.

Put it on my 010 SE5 with no problems.  I drilled and mounted mine permanently .  Mine has the tri bar light and I ran the connection for it into the trunk and connected it up there.  Wire routed up the bag mount and into the trunk no problem.

Hi Dep47,

That is the look I am seeking with the SG facia. The only difference is that I will be installing the removable tour pack and moving the license plate down below the turn signals using the curved license plate frame (HD part #67900056).

So my question is has anyone who has moved their license plate down below the turn signals researched and found out how to wire the license plate light (I believe HD part #69353-05) and how to wire in the tri-bar light located on the facia for the removable tour pack setup?

I understand the concept of electricity, but my practical application is lacking. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan
