Someone who does this for a living shouldn't charge more than 3 hours even though I had 7 hours in mine.  Never did it, just being cautious.

Won't be able to ride for a few months.  Winter is here.

Good to hear.  I will check with the Harley Master Tech as they have some winter labor specials.

You need to ride that thing so you can report.  Just put some skis on the front! How else we will know?

Thanks again Boatman.  Doing this yourself is a good upgrade. The labor for someone like me taking in to a dealer/indy would be 7+ hours?

FLSTFI, I don't get any diving on the SG, but it just hits fairly hard.  Much better set up than the 2012 RGU.

How is the overall ride quality?

Thank you both.

I really like the ride quality of the suspension on my 17 CVO.  Its is a bit firmer, but I am good with that.  The bike feels much more planted in the hard fast curves.  Its more stable and I feel like I have more control.  I think the ride is firm, but not harsh.  The rear is slightly improved over the 12 SERG I had.  The 15 air suspension sucked so bad it was replaced with about 500 miles on the bike.

I like a firm suspension as I spend most my tim in the Smoky Mountains, nice curves.

FLSTFI Dave

I appreciate you comparing the pre 2014s to the 2014-2016 and now 2017.

My SG feels good from the front end.  I just added the normal ride height factory premium shocks in the rear.  Big improvement.

Can you better explain the front end difference between 2014+ and the 2017.  Mine feels good, stiff and planted and does not seem to dive.

How is the 2017 by comparison and how is ride quality in a little greater detail.

Many have said a change in tires from the 408s is big also.

I put 1100 miles on the Legends in Florida in bike week and did over 100 miles today 2 up.  I am happy with the results.  The bike rides well (takes bumps such as bridge to road), handles well, and seems to be more controlled when braking.  When you take the bike off the side stand the front forks do not compress like they used to..   I would recommend these to anyone wanting to upgrade their front end.

Hi Bob. . Great job on this thread.  Glad it came out well and that you are happy with it.  I just put the commander 2s on the other day also. Really made a big difference. I might be thinking  I might do a front end upgrade too sometime. . Not it too much of a hurry. Most of the roads here are flat anyway. . Stay well.  Stuart.

Thanks Stuart-new shoes for the bikes is always a good thing after getting rid of the worn out cupped ones.
