Dan,
Thanks, I will try that tonight.
The trick to getting the outer fairing back on is to screw the headlight adjustment screws in so the don't need to hit the holes in the inner fairing. Easy peazy!
A dealer in California took mine off to install Daymaker headlights and 2 techs spent 3 hours getting it back on. The Service Manager wouldn't allow me to go into the shop and show them how easy it is if you screw in the adjustment screws.
Rascal, I'll give that a try.
Although with my new "clone" daymaker assembly, I think the adjuster bolts stick out a LOT more through the holes.
I guess all I have to do is count the turns and put it back when I'm through.
It would be a great experience to do the front a bit faster.
Although I had my front off and did some work on a Saturday. I put it back on and the wife an I rode to meet about 6 other friends for an even out. When we left the place we all walked up onto the brick paved street under the street light and they admired our bike. We got on and I hit the switch and no headlights...

I had forgotten to plug them in. So with only my trusty HD tool kit that came with the bike, I had the fairing off, the lights plugged back and motor running in less than half an hour. It totally amazed me that it fit back on so easily that night. Since then not so lucky...
Thanks again and I'll try your trick.
