Noticed a few members have changed the windshield from the original on the 07 Serk. Still waiting on word when mine will be built... . but I am interested if the original shield was too small or if it caused buffeting problems? I also would like to know the correct HD part number for that , if needed , I could install using and retaining the detach mounts. Also what may be needed to add driving lamps that I believe I saw on Hoist's beauty  Might as well get a start on ideas just in case I see a bike this year.

The original is a wind screen and not a windshield. The hardware that comes with the OEM windscreen has 7 horizontal mounting holes. The windshield with hardware from HD has 5. You can use the OEM 7 hole hardware and order a Clearview windshield but you will need to specify to them that you want the 7 hole windshield. A lot of people are buying the 5 hole  hardware with windshield from HD and ordering the 5 hole windshield from Clearview because of problems fitting windshield bags on the 7 hole hardware. Thanks guys, appreciate the response. Getting really twitchy, waiting to see if I.ve got a ride comming. Weathers starting to get warmer, snow may even dissappear in a couple of weeks.  Starting to have nightmares of me waiving bye to the wife as she heads out for a ride !

Howie, Just trying to do my part in order to keep your puter from overheating.  Wish I could make your upcoming ride but it doesn't look like you will be coming within 5 states of here. Oh well, will try and see you in Hot Springs as you mentioned. Thanks for everything, jj.

Good of you to ask, but you may regret the offer, I've probably got a million of em.  What are the wiring requirements for the aux lamps and where ould you mount the switch?

The bike is set up for them to be added. The switch is already mounted on the back of the Nacelle, right side. You also have an aux switch on the left. I had mine installed before delivery, so I'm not sure how involved the wiring is, but since everything's set up already, I imagine it's not that bad. Hoist!

He's gonna love to put them on , but he'll love charging you up the @ss too. Try to negotiate these things with him upfront. Many people get a 20% discount from their dealer for parts they install on set-up. Try to get a labor cost inadvance or negotiate a flat fee. It's a fun process, just be smart about it. This way, you won't get any surprises. Just a great bike! Hoist!
