HD 131 SE tuner aftermarket cam?
« on: July 26, 2020, 08:30:18 AM »

I am seeking to maintain the warranty and was wondering if any has had success using the HD 131 factory M-8 upgrade kit with the SE tuner and auto tune but an aftermarket cam such as the TTS 250. I also plan on using the Fullsac head pipe.  I am not seeking to put a radical cam in just an improvement over the one that comes in the kit.

If you want your warranty then your supposed to use harley/SE parts. And make sure you have the SE coverage on your waranty

I was seeking to keep the non HD parts under the warranty radar by ordering the complete kit and using the SE tuner.  My last bike was a twin cam with the SE race tuner and used the Fullsac head pipe and 2” baffles. Once correctly tuned it ran great. 117 HP and 126 TQ.  Unfortunately a collision with a deer and Hospital stay ending my riding for almost a year but I am ready to get another bike and wanted a little more power out of 4 valve head M-8. I am seeking 125 -130 HP and 135 torque range.

The Harley SE tuner will not be able to make the needed adjustment for the TTS cam and Fullsac headpipe.  The SE tuner is very limited in what it can do, has to keep the bike EPA compliant.  You can get near the torque with factory parts, but the HP will be in the 02's from what I have read.

Results from my 2018 Ultra Limited 117 stage 4 upgrade to the 131. Very happy with results and able to keep warranty in place with all H/D parts.

To keep the HD warranty, you have to use HD's EPA-approved fuel map...which are made only for the cam that comes with the kit you use.

As an example, I wanted to use the HD Stage 3 kit, but use the torque cam from the Stage 2.  Neither map would work, since S2 is cam change only, while S3 is increased displacement and higher compression, plus different cam.

In your 131 HD build what AC and pipes were used?

From the post responses the SE treet tuner with auto tune does not have the ability to auto adjust for mild aftermarket cam?
