Hogwander,

Now that my Road Tech mp3 is on ebay and has $180 bid on it, I found a way to make an mp3 work for my bike, despite the cd player. Best Buy sells a unit that looks like a cassette tape with a wire coming off of it that plugs into an mp3 player. You simply slide in the cassette, turn on the mp3 and the sound comes out the bike's speakers. I'm told it only cost about $15.  - oh well! With the money from the one I have on ebay, I will buy one that fits in my pocket and just buy the adapter from Best Buy.
How ironic is this? I have thought about how to make this mp3 work for about a year now and the day before I sell it on ebay I find a simple fix. I took the outer faring off my bike twice to pull the radio and pull the mp3 out for nothing. I guess I now know how to get to my radio if I ever need to again.

Ripp- That sounds like my kinda luck.  I think that is the answer to my problem. I don't like the idea of tearing into a good radio.  The cassette thing will be purchased tomorrow. Thanks for the info. Can't wait to try it out. After moving the remote in the trunk no more skipping. This site has really helped me get going and enjoying my bike. I rode to Round Rock today with my brother-in-law (05 Ultra)for some BBQ brisket at Pokey Joes just off 35 at the Dell Diamond exit. We rode down to Enchanted Rock Saturday. If the weather stays good we have some more places picked out for this week. I love Spring Break!

Update: $10 at WalMart and works fine. Now my mp3 is working on the bike without a modification. I leveled out the equalizer on the mp3 and it sounds great.  :-[I have to remember to shut it down not just shut the bike off.

Ripp,
If you're interested, I'm pretty sure I have the chrome version of the HD mp3 player I bought when she had her SERG, but never got around to installing.  Now she's on an CUSE, so we don't need it.  Let me know if you're interested.

Dude, Thanks for the offer, but I bought the Cassette looking thing and a 20 gb mp3 that holds 10,000 songs. Works perfect and I can take it with me and use the ear phones. :2vrolijk_21:

Hey guys,

On the CD skipping issue, when I bought my bike and contacted the original owner, he advised to only put 6 discs in instead of 12. It actually worked.
He mentioned that the weigh must shake the player apart.

You guys are great with the help
