Need Hawg-Wired help
« on: April 28, 2007, 08:10:03 PM »

I'm installing (trying to install) a 4channel hawg wired system.
My buddy purchased it from Jim (hd-dude). It's for an '06 CUSE.

I got everything tore down & ready to go, but now I'm stuck >:(

Jim told my buddy that we need to unplug the rear amp & get the rear speakers going without the amp before going any further. Is this correct or did my buddy misunderstand Jim?

I located the colored wires for L.R. & R.R. speakers. I planned on cutting & splicing the wires from the rear OEM amp plug to the wires from the head unit. Sounds simple enough....But what are the colors of the wires from the head unit that I need?

If possible, any info would be greatly appreciated. If there's too much to explain I understand. I'll just give Jim a call on Monday.

Thanks,

Grover

Grover;

You need to start at the amp and work your way forward removing the harness as you go (by unplugging and reconnecting the CVO overlay harness to the factory Ultra harness). When you have the amp and harness and amp completely removed you should be able to play your stereo and have all functions normally. This will confirm that you have done the first step correctly. When this is done you can then start the amp install.

I'm on a trip this weekend (Fort Bragg Ride)so I most likely won't be able to get your call i should be home by late afternoon on Sunday, you can call me then and we'll get you the help you need.

Thanks for the reply Jim. I'll get on it today. If I run into another bump in the road I'll give you a call Monday afternoon.

Thanks for your input :) :2vrolijk_21:
