07 Ultra...does it have SE air intake?
« on: April 04, 2007, 07:29:23 PM »

My B/O Ultra just came in and I am doing a few mods right off the bat.

Rinehart true duals
AF controller tune
Aloy-Art stabilzer
Up/lower forks, front and rear crash bars Powder Black
Flame saddle handles
9.5'' Clearview recurve smoked shield..on order

Does the bike have a SE air cleaner intake assembly on it as OEM?  The dealer says yes....but Ive heard differently here.

I would look myself, but the bike is in Wisconsin and I am in NW Indiana.

Thanks !

Hunter,
Short answer is NO, it doesn't have it.  You'll need to replace the backplate and the filter.  Some have gone with the "Roll Your Own" option describe in another thread in this forum http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php/topic,9376.msg170489.html#msg170489.  Don't know why the SEUC didn't come with the SE AC.  :nixweiss:

Not a true SE air cleaner intake as stock- I installed a Stage 1 on mine.  The stock one has some extra holes but not enough flow. Simple, easy install for the stage 1.  Other high flow breathers are also available.

When do you get your bike?

And congrats!

From what I've heard it is because of the lowers on the bike, and noise level not meeting EPA standards. It seems that because of lowers the sound is bouncing back (?) creating more decibels when the G-men are around w/the sound meters. :nixweiss:

BTW -  Welcome to the site.

Good idea to add aftermarket pipes.  I like the Rineharts and the bike now runs cooler as a result.  That & the SERT and stage 1 were as much as I wanted to do - for now anyway.

It's not about the noise-- You Will be gettin emission testing (sniff test) it's another form of revenue for the state comming real soon to a county near you. As Fuel goes to $3 and more a gallon More and more bikes will be on the road hence the EPA mandate the Production bikes have to meet.

With Everyone taken stuff off and opening it up to breathe causes the air quality test to fail and increases the tamper fine( more found Revenue) just like the old days when the cat-coverters were taken off the auto's to help them breathe.

Please do as you have been doing after all it's yours, just be ready when they start looking for examples to be made $$$
