I have some codes in the ecm. How do you correctly read them and where can you find a list of them?

Brian,

Give me a call I have all manuals for the 04 and can look up your codes for you.   Are they showing up in the radio or are you using a SERT to read them through the data mode or another way?  Or have you even put the radio in diagnostic mode yet?

Hey Harry, are any of those codes shown as "LLLLLL". I'm getting that in my odometer instead of the mileage. It bounces back and for between the two, but mostly "LLLLLL". Dealer said it's not a code and the Power Commander caused it. My friend said there's no possible way the PC could do that and assured me it was invisible to the ECM. Do you know what gives? Thanks. Thanks Tros, no L's there. I guess it's not a code. Gotta be a faulty Speedo. Any way at all the PC could possibly cause this? Hoist! 8)

I looked no codes for all LLLLL's, and I haven't seen this issue even with a PC, but some things you may want to try

remove the power commander and go into the speedo in DTC mode.  Then clear the all the DTC's / reset it and see if that removes the LLLLLL's.

Also have you tried to disconnect the battery and let it sit for a few then reattached the battery?

No I haven't tried anything yet Harry. The bike's at the shop for tuning tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get it on Thurs. I'll try your suggestions and see. If it still does it w/o the PC, it's going back to get replaced onder w.....ty! Thanks for the advice. :2vrolijk_21:

I'm still thinking bad Speedo. The "LLLLLL" isn't always all 6 digits. Sometimes it's only 3 or 4 L's. Sometimes the L's are broken up. It's rarely the same pattern, but it's always L's. Weird chit!

I think your speedometer just has a contingent of rogue electrons revolting, trying to "stick it to the man".   ;D

Seriously, I don't see how the PC would have anything to do with it, probably just a bad LCD panel.

Here's a process you can use to pull the codes from the speedo.
