I also used the Rixmie “Short USB-C Cable [5 inch], 100W PD Fast Charging, 20Gbps Data Transfer, 2024 New USB C to USB C Short Cable, Thunderbolt 3 for MacBook, Android Auto, External SSD and More Type-C Devices” to connect the iPhone (much nicer than the long, Apple Original cable), $9.99 from Amazon.

Super easy hookup, synch the device (make sure to select “rider”, not passenger.
Maybe 2-minutes.

Rode for 3+ hours, no headset. Used Apple CarPlay for both music & mapping - and never had SkylineOS “drop” the CarPlay.
