If you hook up a PowerStation to your Battery Tender plug in the radio will have to run both of them down, so your battery will last twice as long.. It has a battery  inside the case that is as big as a Harley battery. Then plug  both in at night and you will be a lot easier on your battery.

Thanks to everyone for all of the great recommendations. I decided to go ahead and get the PowerMINDer 2/4/8 AMP charger. It's about 6 x 6 inches and only weighs a little over 2 pounds. I think it will be perfect.

I'll report back when it gets here.

Thanks again,

I got the BatteryMinder yesterday, fat shipping from Northern Tools. It is a really nice unit. It's pretty small, about 6x6x3 and 2+ pounds. It is very solid feeling.

There is so much talk on this site about getting long life out of a battery, I though the following excerpt from their website might be of interest to some folks.

Quote
The BatteryMINDer®  automatically dissolves power-robbing sulphation crystals using safe, low voltage, high frequency U.S. Patented pulse technology.
We guarantee to significantly increase both your battery’s life and performance or we will refund 100% of your money within one (1) full year.  This is in addition to our five (5) year “no hassle” warranty.

I haven't had a chance, or need, to use it yet, but think this will be just perfect for what I need. Now I can get rid of the behemoth charger I've had for umpteen years that's the size of a typewriter.
