I just dropped another $1200 because of you. 

My brother-n-law and I are planning on taking a 5000 mile (10 day) trip at the end of May from Texas through New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, and back. I have an '07 SE Ultra. The seat leaves a lot to be desired for comfort. I tried a $150 Pro-pad, but still wasn't happy. I've been reading several of the threads regarding which seat is best. I just got off the phone w/ Corbin. I ordered the new ostrich matching SE Ultra touring heated seat and backrest.  Seat was in stock so I should have it in 3-4 days. Backrest will take about 3 weeks. I hope it is as comfortable as most of you have said. Guess I will find out.

I'll report back after the 1000 mile "seat break-in" period.
By the way, any specific instructions for the break-in period???  Is it OK for the wife to ride during seat break-in? I'd sure hate to lug down the seat before it was broken in.

You want to break in the seat, before you take off on that 5000 mile trip.  Or at least, I think you want to.  The first several hundred miles really are very hard in the end.  I had sore hips for the first couple of weeks.  It gets better with every ride and then one day you will forget all about the seat and just enjoy the view over the top of the windshield.  Congrats on your choice.

Won't matter about the passenger being on there....she needs to break her part in too!!  Even without a proper break in period, mine was more comfortable than the stock seat right off the bat

I pick my 07' SERK up saturday morning.  And, me and the other half is getting ready to take a long road trip ourself (3 weeks vacation including bike week @ Myrtle Beach).  Since I have not logged any hours on the stock seat, should I go ahead and order the Corbin seat?  Do they make a matching SERK seat/backrest?  When it comes to creature comforts, I dont mind to fork out some $, so opinions are welcome.  Thanks and good luck ACE!
