Anyone in Jacksonville that can look at a bike???

Hello all.  I just bought a bike on e-bay for my son (2003 Fatboy) and the bike is situated on Beach Drive in Jacksonville.  I was hoping to find someone who lives close by there that can go over and give it a quick check over.  You have to be carefull nowadays and just want to make sure it runs good,  has the mileage stated, and is in the condition stated.  I will probably have the seller take the bike to a dealer and broker it through them.  The usual, says clear title on the listing but after you buy it all of a sudden Harley Credit holds the Title.  Go figure.

If you can help me out please let me know.

Kind of like Ernie......

He just bought his second SEEG, site unseen.  This one is up in Montanna and we just don't have anybody in the area to check it out for him.  He flew up today and is riding it home.

Andy bought one on here, site unseen but had one of the members back east go look at it for him and report back.  Just one of the great little bonuses of this forum.  I'm sure if one of the members of this site lived in the area they'd only be too happy to help you out........

The bike is still in Jacksonville.  I am still debating the purchase.  I was thinking of having it brokered through the dealer there as a safe alternative to having someone look at it.  It turns out it is financed so that is a bit of a snag from my perspective.  Thanks for all the responses and I will keep you posted.

I think some of these schmucks think " clear title " means their ex's name isn't on it or something. To me " clear title " means  I own it and not the damn bank. Still, you might have some leverage here depending on how much of a hardass you are. I'm sure there's some fees involved with transfering title and registration to you, so you should dock the seller that amount for his BSing you.

Yup.  I agree.  I thought it meant that too but now he says that clear title (in Florida) means that the bike is clear of any declarations such as salvage title.  I'm sure most on here would agree that clear title means no loans and you h ave the title in hand as you paid for it in full.
